Informed by shifting design preferences and years of client insights, Neville Johnson has introduced Ashbury, a contemporary take on classic Shaker door that reflects a growing appetite for refined, simplified interiors.
With over 60% of fitted bedroom orders centred around two signature styles—Wentworth, a timeless Shaker design, and Continental, a clean-lined modern favourite—Ashbury was developed as a response to clients who want the best of both: heritage character with a minimalist edge.
“Ashbury was born from a desire to create something that feels familiar yet fresh,” says Masha R&D and Design Manager. “It retains the charm and structure of Shaker furniture but introduces a slimmer frame and lighter aesthetic. The result is timeless, elegant, and totally in tune with the way people are living and decorating today.”
Understated by Design, Boutique by Nature
Ashbury’s debut is showcased in Neville Johnson’s latest boutique bedroom—a concept that takes its cues from luxury hotels and calm, cocooning retreats. Designed to be serene yet highly functional, the space demonstrates Ashbury’s ability to bring tailored sophistication to modern homes.
Finished in Mink, a soft, layered neutral, the Ashbury cabinetry sets a refined tone. It’s paired with Hazlewood nightstands and Kenmore Oak accents to introduce gentle contrast and warmth, while bronze-toned mirrors add a hint of luxury. Extended floor-hugging wardrobe doors and integrated slim lighting complete the seamless aesthetic.
“We’ve seen an increasing demand for rooms that feel both calming and high-end—what we describe as boutique-style bedrooms,” Masha adds. “Ashbury is ideal for this, offering subtle detail and sophistication without overpowering the space.”
